Snoopy

Snoopy

The H.A.M.B. is easy to take for granted. Often times, I will find myself following a thread for years or even decades without so much as considering the relationship between my mind, time, and the thread itself. Here’s an example of that:

Back in 2014, Denns1989 posted about his model-a survivor called, “Snoopy.” He had recently found the old hot rod in a garage, had some very noble preservation plans, and I signed up for notifications immediately. Through the years, I’ve casually followed along as Denns1989 made good on those plans – he’s kept the old car up, driven it a ton, and has just generally done a great job keeping us all informed on what it’s like to own and use such a neat old car.

Anyway, I was on a road trip this weekend and I ran out of podcasts before I ran out of I35. As such, my mind began to wonder and eventually landed on Snoopy. It had been awhile since I peeped the thread and I wondered what he had been up to as of late. This morning I got my chance to have a look-see.

Three hours later and I’m now caught up on Snoop… And as I sit here, I still can’t get over the fact that I have been following this car and its owner since 2014. I don’t know Denns1989… I’ve never seen Snoopy in person. And yet, I’d bet you an oil change I could hop in that car right now and drive it as if I have been doing it for years. I know that car… personally…

The internet is such wonderful thing. It’s horrific too… But it can be so amazing at the same time.

If you are interested in getting to know Snoop, just follow along here.
