Wisdom from Vern…

Living in the Bay Area of California, we’ve got a treasure trove of hot rodding legends all around this area, but the one man thats probably had the most influence on my love of traditional-built hot rods is Vern Tardel. Yes, Rex Rod Keith’s father, and the man that twenty years ago co-authored the fantastic “How to Build a Traditional Ford Hot Rod” along with Mike Bishop. The best part about Vern is that he is absolutely a regular, approachable and downright funny guy with an amazing shop and a vast wealth of early Ford-building knowledge. I just found these videos shot at the Tardel ranch nearly 8 years ago, and figured they are really worth sharing. Enjoy!
