Return to Revolution?
It’s difficult for me to believe, but the Hot Rod Revolution will be turning 15 years old next September. The Cochrans and Tardels cooked up the first show in the little town of Penngrove, Ca. back in 2006 focusing on quality over quantity, and things only got better from there. I was lucky enough to bring a car to the ’06, ’07 and ’09 shows (2008 was cancelled) since they were just an hour’s drive away from me. The Revolution for 2010 moved out to the Seaholm Power Plant in Austin, which was absolutely awesome, and possibly one of the most photographic locations for a hot rod show I can imagine. The 2011 and ’12 shows moved to Camp Mabry which I sadly missed as life just got busier, but I know those were amazing as well. Then came come crap weather in 2013 and the new location of historic Gruene never happened… The Revolution was cancelled.
Why am I bringing all this up? Well let’s be honest, 2020 is pretty much a wash for any live car gatherings, so we’re all setting our sights on 2021. If we could just persuade Ryan and Keith to fire up this amazing show just one more time for a special gathering, I’d be there again with bells on. How bout you?
