Midwest Drag Racing in Color circa 1965

Here’s some very tidy footage of a Nebraska local drag race around 1964 or 65, if I had to guess by the newest cars I could spot. Nothing too spectacular in this film- No FED’s burning nitro or wild Sidewinders getting squirrelly, but plenty of good match ups and few clean little hot rods and gassers make the run. Here’s a viewing tip for you: The drag racing ends after 16 minutes, but scrub up to the 20 minute mark and there’s some fun dirt track racing with lots of carnage too!
