Lets go to the Indy 500 and Bonneville back in 1934

I’m not sure why I’ve never seen this recently-restored footage before, but what a find! Firestone made this promotional film “The Test Supreme” for the 1934 race season, first talking to racers at Indy, including a few moments with mechanical genius Harry Miller. Lots of racing action at the brickyard as well, including some B roll footage shot alongside a few racers. Interesting note that Riding Mechanics were still utilized at Indy this year, and were mandatory to ride along all the way till 1937/ The film ends with Ab Jenkins speed and endurance run at Bonneville, covering 3000 miles in 23.5 hours, averaging over 127 mph!
