Bill Fisher’s Ford Speed Manual: The Flathead Bible

Bill Fisher’s Ford Speed Manual: The Flathead Bible

I’m still rummaging through my hot rod bookshelf and wanted to share a manual from 1952 that you can actually still purchase a reprint of to this very day. In case you’re wondering why would a book still be sold 68 years after it’s first printing? Well, “California” Bill Fisher assembled the Bible for hopped up Ford V8 speed and he got it right the first time, with very solid advice that still holds true today. Fisher gives valuable tips on ignition, carburetion, camshaft selection, and even chassis set up for building an A-V8 hot rod. The writing is simple and straightforward to follow, and classic illustrations are by legendary artist Tom Medley. I’m very fortunate to have an original copy of this book ($2 brand new!), and want to apologize for the bad page images; I didn’t want to crush the book in a flatbed scanner. Hope you enjoy…
