Mystery Hot Rod

Mystery Hot Rod

Selfish post this morning… I live in a small, but growing country community just west of Austin called Dripping Springs. When we moved here, there was one open gas station and a few abandoned examples. Now, the joint is littered with service stations at just about every corner. One of the larger stores is located near the Post Office and houses a Subway to go along with all the other junk food and tobacco. Due to the location, I frequent the place…

Recently this establishment has come under new management and as a result, has received a remodel. Yesterday, I sat down in the Subway portion with my newly acquired steak and cheese wrap and looked up to see a picture of a chopped model-a coupe. I recognized it, but couldn’t place it so I asked the teller if he knew anything about the picture.

“I got it from the archives at City Hall.” he said. “I think it’s a Cadillac.”

I knew this guy didn’t have anything for me, so I ended the interview and shot a picture with my iPhone hoping to identify the location and the car at a later date.

“Sir. Please don’t take pictures in my store.”

If we need more pictures, I’ll  get em. But for now, this is all I got. I don’t recognize anything in the background, but it is conceivable it was taken in downtown Dripping Springs. I do, however, feel like I’ve seen this car before. I just can’t place it… And I’m hoping one of you can.
