Early Film Failures

Early Film Failures

So for Christmas is 2009, my wife bought me a Leica M3 camera along with a 35mm lens. It was my first rangefinder kit and I was really excited to learn the ins and outs of the Leica. My first trip with it was to the 2010 GNRS.

I remember being nervous about shooting only film and coming away with nothing, so I backed it up with my digital camera. That turned out to be a good idea because I had issues loading and unloading rolls without exposing the film. That… and my camera had a corrected eyepiece from its previous owner who, apparently, was damned near blind. Only I didn’t know that at the time and was having a really hard time focusing.

Lots of excuses…

Anyway, yesterday I was looking for images of the Pasadena Roadster Club Reliability Run from that same year and stumbled upon that first roll of film. Most of the shots are from the GNRS, but there are a few from when I got home and a few from a buddy’s wedding as well. I didn’t have anything to run today and thought you guys might enjoy some early incompetence.

So, have at it:
