Moriarity Finishes The Dream Rod

The Dream Rod was a project car ran by Car Craft Magazine and built by the famed Bill Cushenbery. The concept was actually a familiar one. Car Craft staffers wanted to design an alternative roadster body as good and original ‘T’, ‘A’, and ’32 bodies were just getting to “hard” to come by. The final design ran in the October, 1961 issue of the magazine.

Intrigued, Bob Larivee pushed the magazine to build the car and commissioned Cushenbery to do the deed. By 1963, the car was finished and put on Bill’s tour. After a few years, the car was sold to the ISCA and to freshen things up, they gave the car a mild restyling and renamed it the “Tiger Shark.”

Who knows what happened from there, but thank god Mark Moriarity ended up with it. It’s finally done.

Check it out.
