The Goodwood Festival of Speed!

The Goodwood Festival of Speed!

You might remember my post about an event called the ‘Goodwood Revival’ that I went over to England for last year. As you read this, I’m heading back across the pond for the Duke of Richmond’s (formerly known as Lord March) other event call the ‘Festival of Speed’. It’s essentially a high speed hill climb up to his estate in every sort of racing vehicle that you can imagine. For the 25th anniversary event this year, there are rumored to be some pretty spectacular rides showing up. Now, if your thinking this is some stuffy, upper-crust British luxury car event, think again… Everything from the ‘Pure Hell’ Altered to a LeMans-winning GT40, to Richard Petty’s Superbird have made their way up the prestigious hill in previous events.  For some inspiration, here’s a short clip of the 2011 FOS event, where the 100th anniversary of the Indy 500 was recognized by bringing some of the best winners over to race. Who knows what I’ll see this year, but I’m looking forward to it!
