Don Ferrara 29 A Roadster Test

Don Ferrara 29 A Roadster Test

After years of being a staple of Southern California’s lake beds and car shows, as well as a Hot Rod magazine cover car, Don’s Model A was already very well-known by late 1952. However, that didn’t stop Dean Bachelor of Hop Up from running a full road test on the roadster in their October issue. Reading further, it turns out Don had the car for sale at that point, after a decade of ownership and improvements he felt it was time to move on. What I love about the Road Test is that it gives full specifications and build details on the iconic A that we might have never learned otherwise; Cool details, like the gauges in the firewall for out-of-the-car tuning, or the hill-holder that holds pressure on the brakes electrically with a switch. The Ferrara Roadster has always been at the very top of my ‘A on A rails 29 Ford’ list, and reading Bachlor’s glowing review reveals why- Its a hot rod of great details and a very thoughtful build. Who could ask for more than that? Read for yourself, and enjoy the pictures…
