Barney Navarro Defines Horsepower

When I was a wee little lad, my dad was understandably concerned about my understanding of horsepower. We built one of those invisible engines together, he talked about the theory, he demonstrated with burnouts, etc… But I never really understood what horsepower was until he gave me a print out of an old article he had found somewhere.

For years, I’ve thought about that printout and wondered where it came from. And then, finally… I stumbled upon it in an early issue of Motorlife Magazine. To my enjoyment and great pride, I discovered that the article was written by a legend – Barney Navarro.

And yeah, I just had to post it in its entirety. Read this… and enjoy it… because I honestly don’t know if a better explanation has ever been written.
