Driving the Kookie Kar back to 1958

Driving the Kookie Kar back to 1958

Unless you’ve been hiding in your garage the past few months, your probably aware that the original Norm Grabowski Kookie-T was recently¬†found and sold at auction for an astounding $440,000! …And this record-breaking price was paid not for a perfect condition, ready-to-roll version of the car as it looked on ’77 Sunset Strip’. No, this is for the later 60s show rod version of the T-bucket, modified with pearl white paint, crazy high back seats, dually rear wheels,¬†and a twin blower motor. Despite this massive amount paid, I’m happy to report that the new owner of the most iconic T Bucket of all time will indeed have it restored back to her original late 50s TV show & Life Magazine configuration, with that 1956 Dodge Royal Blue paint and Dean Jeffries flames. Norm’s car could not be in better hands for the job either, as is now sitting at Roy Brizio’s shop in South San Francisco- The same shop that returned the Sam Barris Merc and Ala Kart to their proper glory as well. There are a few rare bits missing from the Kookie Kar, but nothing the talented Brizio boys can’t find or fabricate! Stay tuned as I’ll do my best to keep you up to date with restoration photos and possible conversations with Roy right here…
