Send Good Thoughts for Vern’s Shop…

You’ve all heard about the massive fires we are experiencing here in Northern California. Its hard to explain how bad it is, but imagine thousands of acres, entire neighborhoods of homes, and large businesses completely burned to the ground, followed by smokey air that is nearly unbreathable in a 60 mile radius. The fire is moving rapidly across counties and new areas are starting to burn every day. You can read more about this ongoing disaster from folks on the HAMB here.

One place that is on the very edge of an active fire zone right now is Vern Tardel’s shop in Windsor. Its hard to over emphasize how special his place has been to anyone who loves traditional hot rods living in the Bay Area. It’s a 45 year treasure trove of old Ford parts and Flathead motors, not to mention ongoing hot rod projects in every corner. Vern and Keith have always kept this amazing place open and accessable to visitors, and I personally have memories of many great trips up to the shop over the past 17+ years.
