What’s a Better Motivator: Shows or Swaps?

Looking out the kitchen window onto a cold and wet night, I realize just how far into winter we are. Holidays are rapidly approaching and I’m woefully behind on getting any kind of cards or gifts out to friends and family. The chilly weather also reminds me how long it’s been since I’ve spent quality time with any of the old cars, making improvements, fixing issues, swapping parts, etc. This leads me to a question for you: Which one is a better motivator to get your stale car projects moving along: Going to Car Shows or Swap Meets? I’m asking you because the last weekend in January will host both the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona and the Turlock Model A Swap. Both events offer a great weekend of hot rods, both are good opportunities to see old cars friends, and both are fun and rewarding. So what’s the bigger benefit, finding rare parts you still need for your project car, or getting inspiration and ideas from seeing others finished cars on display?
