No Mal

A friend of mine sent over the image above thinking it was a rare shot of one of my heroes – Mal Hooper. It’s not… The streamliner is actually Mal’s old “Schadoff Special”, but in ’57 it was ran under the CT Automotive colors by Don Clark. He was the driver and engine builder. The 467-inch Hemi powered liner took home the Class D record with a 248.281 mph pass.

In any case, I’m still looking for any and all photos of the legendary (in my mind) Mal Hooper… If you got em, send em my way.
