Flathead Pushrod CHEATER!

I don’t typically cheapen The Jalopy Journal by flinging commercial shit in your face at any and every chance I get, but this is different. This is actually quite brilliant.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I was watching Tardel run the valves in Auderer’s new flathead. He had it done in under 20 minutes. The last time I did the same chore in my old ’39 Sedan, it took me around two hours. See, I don’t have the kind of experience that Keith does… and as a result, I have zero confidence. So, I’d spin the motor around to the exhaust valve of pump one, adjust that lifter, and then second guess myself as to whether or not I was really on the exact heel of the cam. So, I’d spin the motor around again and double check. I did this a lot more than eight times.

There has got to be a better way for schmucks like me and pros alike, right?
