This was filmed sometime around 1958 to 1960… Just a young man with an 8mm motion camera sitting in the stands and filming what he saw. Most historians consider this early version of short track racing the most pure in American history and watching videos like this just ads prudence to that claim. Mute the music – you don’t need it. Just sit back and imagine what it was like to sit in the stands as this action went down. Or better yet, imagine being behind the wheel of one of those old Jalopies pressing for the top spot in your heat.
