Lincoln’s Greatest Hits…

Perhaps you’ve seen all the auto news lately that Lincoln is being re-imagined and renamed “The Lincoln Motor Company” as they seek to find themselves becoming a true flagship luxury brand once again. At the LA Auto Show last month Lincoln had a number of their most iconic classic models from the past displayed proudly across their entire floor space, and shoving the 2013 models all the way in the back corner.  Having owned a ’49 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Coupe as my first real custom, I do have a soft spot for the Ford Motor Company’s luxury brand, and would dare to say they have indeed made some strikingly beautiful cars in the past, from 1932-1961 especially. The KA/KB, Zephyr, Capri, Mark II, and Continental all come to mind. The marketing team at Lincoln are keen enough to take these greatest hits from their past and lean on them heavily to invoke emotions of what might be to come again. Actually, it just makes me with I had a 39 Zephyr and a 56/57 Mark II in my garage even more…
