The Valley Custom Bird

I’ve never met Dave Simard, but I’ve always admired him from afar. His wonderfully eclectic collection is only matched by his reputation for being a down-to-earth, regular ole hot rodder. In issue #2 of The Jalopy Journal, we featured his Valley Custom built ’55 Thunderbird. It’s a feature that I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but just never had the means. But John Mearns had a connection, made a call, and the next I knew I had an audio recording of the interview. From that, I wrote the article that appeared in the book.

As I was sitting around this morning thinking about a topic for today’s piece, it sort of started to make sense that I post the audio for you all to hear. I think it’s kind of fun to hear it as it was told from the horses mouth and figured you guys would to. So, here it is:
