Flashback: 2005 Lone Star Round Up

Seven years doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but so much has changed since. I can’t tell you what it was like. I don’t think anyone really could. But I can tell you what came to pass. I can tell you that.

Since 2005, I’ve left Kansas City for the huge skies of central Texas. I’ve quit my life as an aimless suit. I’ve had two kids and conceived another. I’ve earned some friends. I’ve lost a few.  Life has generally moved at a feverish pace. A lot of shit can go down in seven years and you don’t realize it while you are living it… It’s not until you look back that you see how different your world is.

There is one constant, at least. The Lone Star Round Up is like a welcome mat laid out for the coming of spring. And it’s just around the corner… again.
