Rehabilitation For A G.I.

Rehabilitation For A G.I.

January, 1956. Car Craft Magazine. Marcel Lassale got home from Korea and felt like his buddies had left him behind. While he was serving his country, his pals were building hot rods and customs. Selfish bastards. Playing catchup with a twinge of ‘venge, Marcel decided to build his own – double time.

The result? This 1952 Ford. It had to feel good to be the only guy on the block featured in Car Craft, right?

I like most everything about this little Ford. My only reservation is the grille, but I guess it’s serviceable. I mean, a lot of guys have been enamored with the slab side Merc, but couldn’t afford one. It seems like throwing that grille in anything quenches the thirst if just a little bit. It’s not terrible on this car, but I would have done something less obtuse.

And besides, Marcel totally made up for it with the bumpers. Who knew ’54 Chrysler bumper guards could look so swell that far out on the edge? The ’53 Lincoln taillights are tits too.

Enjoy:
