I seem to be posting a lot about shoeboxes lately. I guess I’m going through a phase of some sort. I wasn’t even looking for one this morning while flipping through a 1958 issue of Custom Cars Magazine and I still managed to find this piece built by a young Pete Millino. It’s certainly a “full custom,” but the car flows so well that your eye is kind of tricked into thinking that the car is a bit mild.

I’m absolutely in love with the ’56 Ford convert windshield featuring a little 3″ top over-hang that is complimented by the shape and over-hang of the upside down ’55 Lincoln taillights. The side trim is boss as well… It’s an arrow that points the way. The rest of the car is just down right smooth. Nothing to see on the bumpers… Nothing to see on the hood or deck lid… You get the point. My only reservations are the liberal (some might argue over done) striping job and the large round grille opening. That said, I could learn to love the grille as well.
