Hot Rod Hubcaps

Hot Rod Hubcaps

Last week, someone mentioned that we don’t see enough full hubcaps on hot rods. The reasoning is pretty simple – full hubcaps don’t make a hot rod go faster, so why should they be included? Even so, few of us are actually that committed to the hot rod theory and there are times when full caps just look right.

That in mind, I decided to search for an example. I went through the little books and stopped at the first car that hit me. Joe Hess’ roadster was featured in the July, 1956 issue of Rodding & Restyling and features a classic East coast feel. It’s all set off by a set of ’55 Olds caps. It’s a cute package that just works.

Anyhow, I’m interested seeing your examples of traditional hot rods (not customs fellas) with full caps. What do you got in your personal image archive?
