A Revolutionary Update

A Revolutionary Update

When we first decided to move the Hot Rod Revolution to Austin, Texas from California, my first concern was one of quality. Past Revolutions have been littered with cars of extreme historical significance. From the car that competed in the first ever organized drag race to one of the first roadsters to run over 150 mph at Bonneville; we were able to pull some great cars out of some amazing collections despite the fact that it’s such a small show.

How in the hell could we do that in Texas? I mean, Texas is god’s country and all… BUT, let’s be realistic… California is, after all, “the place ya ought to be.”

Well, as it turns out I had nothing to worry about. I’ve been absolutely amazed by the response we’ve had from not only Texas natives, but from other folks around the country as well. The 2010 Hot Rod Revolution (November 20, 2010) will once again be a tiny little car show. I’m betting we have about 100 cars attend. Even so, the field is littered with cars that were built just after WW2 – some featured in past magazines and record books and others just local to the area.

Here’s a taste:

Of course, there will be others – some historical and some casual cars built more recently (see here and here). I’m starting to get really excited fellas. The Revolution is coming!

If you have a pre-48 traditional hot rod or custom and want to see us at the Power Plant for the Revolution, you still have a little time. Check out the official site.
