Technical Young guy dropping axles on TV?

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by jim1932, Oct 3, 2015.

  1. A while back I saw a bit of a tv show (history/discovery/velocity) about a younger guy that was dropping axles in (texas?) and other car stuff. Anyone have a clue what I might have seen?

pretty sure the show was Hot Rod TV. It was about a 19 year old guy (Jarrod)? in California that used to be on here, but got banned. He built a Model A roadster on deuce rails in his dad's shop

You get banned when cranky trad-police report every single thread that wrinkles their drawers.

But nobody reports the billet valve cover and mustangII crap?

Does make one ponder the existence of a parallel universe where all the old actual traditional guys have gone. Seems like an episode of the X files

Fast forward to 7(mins):43(seconds) for the axle drop.

P.S. His name is Jordan Graham.

  13. I was wondering what happened on the HAMB that got him banned. It was a mystery to me I've thought about occasionally. Not to get into starting a drama-shitstorm thread started, I've just let sleeping dogs lie.

Years ago a customer brought us one of Jordan's dropped axles to have a front end set up for a '36 3-Window. The axle was dropped 1/4" more on one side and the camber wasn't equal either. Worked really good after the customer sent it to Greg Haynes to be fixed.

  16. Usually it is the stuff behind the scenes and in PMs added to the on screen drama that gets a person banned.

Titus does good work, check out his thread.

Bottom line is, let's keep this about rods and customs.

Let the actual moderators do their job.

If your looking to get an axle dropped, try Andy Kohler in Williamsport PA, he's known here on the HAMB as thunderbirdesq.

Andy is a great guy to deal with, he's real particular about getting the camber correct on these old axles.

    Here is a link to his profile page;

  20. Dropping a axle on a TV would do considerable damage & screw up reception, especially if it was a original forged heavy axle! :D HRP

Shoooooot... I still remember watching the news as a kid with my Mom when John Wayne died. It was our first color TV( lasted forever) but the reception was giving some trouble, so my Dad had to put fresh pieces of Aluminum foil on each end of the heavy dropped 32 axle over the top of our Zenith.

Jordan is alive and well. I don't think he drops many axles anymore. I had one and it was a-okay, no issues.

Like it's been mentioned, Andy (@thunderbirdesq) drops axles. They have a really nice shape to them, too. He's a talented and all-around nice guy.
