Yeah, I know, how is that exiting?
They made models of most cars.
Well, mine is of my 55 Olds, a radical custom, that the only 55 Olds parts left are the bumpers.
I built it in 81-2, and brought it out to the first Lead East. It went to every Leadsled Spectacular since 84, every Lead East, and every Sledscene East, as well as other KKOA events, James Dean Runs, Fiesta of the 50's, and of course, local events.
It's had it's picture in many magazines of the 24 years I've had it on the road.
Well, I have another compliment to the design of the car. Modeller Vic Collins has made a copy of my car, and is casting resins of it.
Not an easy job to do, from what I hear. He stretched a 55 Chevy, and then added all my Kustom touches. 55 Pontiac side trim, 56 Packard tallights, 63 T-Bird headlights, 55 Desoto grill, chopped top, with 57 Olds 3 piece rear window.
He told me that this might be the first of a series of Kustoms he will make in resin. So there may be more, as he has a pretty large assortment of Sleds in his collection. from which he can make molds. Sam Barris' Chevy, a few D'Agostino cars, Matranga Merc, Kopper Kart, working on the Golden Indian, etc.
He is bringing one down this weekend for me to paint (using the original paint I used on mine!), but I couldn't wait to show you guys. Pics of a painted finished model will follow later.
    (CAUTION- SPAM ALERT)
He has offered to sell the first batches to HAMBers at a reduced price. Detail in the For Sale section.
Here's a shot of the resin, fresh out of the molds, and my beloved Olds!

    Hey chopolds,

    Tha's one sweet Olds!!!!!
I guess that's what I get for never goin' further east than Denver to
    see kustom shows, my loss!!
Any more up close shots of the Olds?
I had to quit building models when I started spending as much time on
them as the real thing. That resin cast sure looks like a real time saver over kit bashin' and parts robbin' as necessary to build it.

Nice ride, cool resin. Now if he will only get crackin' on that '42 Ford Convertible model that he keeps promising me!

Congratulations! that is one awesome Olds! It's also great news that he will be doing a line of new custom models. Model cars have been dying off at a fast pace due to nothing left cool to build........this could fire it back up!

Its 2012. Has this ever been finished?
I love the 1:1 version, a timeless sled. I would be very happy to build a model version.
