Anyone know where I can get a simple wiring diagram for a running engine stand?

Perfect, have done a few and this is it. Unless of course you feel the need to run a generator or alternator into the mix to keep things charged. A one wire is just that , one wire to the batt. Positive.

There isn't much need to run a generator or alternator unless you plan to run the engine for hours on end. Having one mounted serves as the belt adjustment for the water pump in most cases though.

Actually a push button for the starter and a toggle switch for the ignition will work fine in place of the key switch unless one just wants a key switch.

The present engine I have to put on the stand has a single wire alternator and a push button/toggle is fine with me.
