Wow, that's way cool. Lessee...how much would I have to give up to be able to fit into one of these.....well crud.
Later in the sixties belonged to Art Himsl and was painted in an "endless ribbon" type paint job if I remember correctly. Might have been gold and purple panels though, too. It's in Andy Southhard's Customs and Hot Rods of the sixties. I can't get to my scanner to do the deed right now, so maybe someone else can.
I think Mickey Himsl still owns it, and is the one that restored it. I'm pretty sure I saw it in the 50th Oakland Roadster show. I know it was over 12 years ago, because I was still in CA.
That car is on my bucket list to build a clone of. It is so wrong it is right. Love everything about it. Don
It amazes me how someone can post nothing but a pic, and 5 minutes later someone can give you a complete run down on the car... The good news is when my wife yells at me now... In 5 minutes I won't remember it...
I like it better today. Replace the flathead with a nailhead; replace the vertical steering with cowl steering; add front brakes; and you see what is in my head to build with my '26 T tub. I'm pretty sure that mine won't turn out nearly this nice, but I'm hoping.
Wow! I'd love to see the dimensions on that piece of automotive art. It looks like my project will be close in proportions.
Holy crap that recent pic is so cool. I'd even keep the whitewalls and I HATE whitewalls on hot rods!
