  8. True.

We are off to see The Hollies here in Tauranga NZ end of January.
My most favourite group of the '60's/'70's.
More top 20 hits than any other English group.

It always amazes me how nothing is new in the world of speed. That camber design was big talk a few years ago, the swirl affect that made horse power and aided with reducing pinging.

  12. Pretty sure that's not a Spit, so is it a Hurricane, perhaps?

Not enough blades on the prop to be a Hurricane. I'll leave it at that, do a search. Reading is learning.

Mike "the bike" Hailwood, my dad took me out to Willow Springs in around 1960-61 to see him race, he changed over to F1 cars years later.
Mike and his daughter were killed in 1981 in a road accident.

    That was surely a LONG-running make! Didn't
Singer eventually get folded into the Rootes group
in the '50s and re-emerge as Sunbeam? Just asking.

Singer was bought by the Rootes Group. The name continued for some years, but, it was more an early badge-engineering thing. :)

  30. I was going by the shape of the wing from that angle and it just didn't look like the distinct shape of the Spit wing. Had I seen this view there would have been no question.
