  3. Going through some old photos and found this shot of my uncles brother, and his 1932 Ford 3 window with a steering knob.

Not to turn the thread into the Abbe Lane Show, but yup, I think
Abbe is alive and happy at 78 in NYC. She was quite a fountain
of talent, enthusiasm and energy, working from the '50s well into
the '90s on stage in films and TV and, of course, records. She
was married for 12 years to band leader Xavier Cougat, incidentally.

I have to agree with Norby48 about the way things used to be.
In one respect, Abbe reminds me of Bettie Page, who passed
on last year. They both obviously loved being women! God
bless women! What would hotrods, or the HAMB, be without
the gals in the picture, eh???

John Wayne & Dennis Hopper in "The Sons of Katie Elder,"
1965, one of two films they did together. After doing "Easy
Rider," Hopper's next film was "True Grit." When Wayne arrived
on set, it's said he had a loaded gun and bluffed around the set
    asking, "Where's that pinko Hopper?!?"

Gloria Swanson, one of Hollywood's silent vamps, made
the transition to soundies. Below, she and & Marie Prevost
(left) ham it up on a movie set. In 1922, BTW, Prevost publicly
    burned her swimsuit to declare her bathing-beauty days over;
it paved the way to short-lived stardom, and Prevost died
alone and virtually starved in 1928, her Daschund her only
    company.

Lupe had a tumultuous five-year marriage to Olympic hero
and film Tarzan, Johnny Weissmuller, from 1933 to 1939.
Thereafter, her career fell apart. And in 1940, the devout
Catholic learned she was pregnant. Rather than endure
the shame of bearing a baby out of wedlock, she committed
    suicide.

I seem to remember seeing that photo in a "Road and Track" article about the new Fitch Sprint. Maybe 1962 or '63? I think that the Fitch Sprint may have been competition for the Yenko Stinger.

    Thanks swi66.
