My God, those road conditions are unbelievable. Today, governments would be sacked if that was the best they could do.
We are so lucky that the cars built in those days were as tough as nails to live through that rubbish and survive to now and provide us with the fodder to feed our habit.

The left for dead Merc was taken in 1958-59 in Dawson Creek, B.C. The CECIL coffee shop is still alive and well today in Medicine Hat, and Dads 55 Crown that he sold to a buddy of his way back when..
