Yep, that's the building I referred to as appearing to have "1.5" floors, or floor with attic. Has the "7 North Studios" sign in the window. Looks taller from the side street (back where the service area is).

I've said for quite a while now that if back when I could, I had spent less on cars and chrome and more on cameras and kodachrome, I could put my kids through Vanderbilt ! Tom S.

It's deceiving. I've been upstairs in it and it's definitely got a full second floor. That's where all the offices for the dealership were/are.
    The building is really BIG!
If you watch the movie "Seabiscuit" the South West corner of the building and interior is used as the bicycle shop of the jockey in the opening scenes of the movie. They blocked off Anaheim for two days and built the train station facade in the middle of the street and shot all the scenes one afternoon, in the RAIN!
I was hanging out by the commissary munching down on shrimp and bagels and lox.
They rented all the bicycles and bike stuff from a friend of mine who has a shop near by.

Do you have a year for this issue? Cushman made a number of scooters for the military, most (but not all) with tractor seats. The one in the right foreground looks very much like one of the cushion seat versions.

Edit: I see a '47 Texas tag...so it could well be a surplus military model.

  14. No, sorry I didn't note the specific date but as you found, it is likely '47 or '48. I found the pic several months ago and don't remember issue

A couple of Gene Clarke's #1021, probably at a West Coast A-C-D meet around 1973. Photo by designer Alex Tremulis...
