A mess, eh? '41 German press photo of knocked-out Russian tanks.

And, later in the war, the casual sightseers seem a little out of place ,
given the firefight that probably destroyed this German Panther.

Talk about a PILEUP! This retro glance THANKS to xFrameChevy! I recall
being a little incensed back in the late '60s or early '70s when Volkswagen
put out this ad. BUT, it's still a blast trying to ID all the cars!

  5. In May, 2004, Corvette Magazine did an article on the XP700 and the Shark, Bill Mitchel's two darlings, as told by Karl Ludvigsen. In part, "Usually appearing with chromed Dayton knock-off wire wheels, polished Halibrand mags were tried for a time as well. Later, the car was also given Chaparrel-style alloys. After the Shark had been around for a while, it gained small bumperettes at the tip and corners of it's nose and a circular grille emblem,,,,,,,,,,,,(a description of early motors),,,,As newer and bigger motors became available, these too would be tried in Shark." Bill drove the car daily when possible for at least a decade.

Technologically challenged? :D Looks like a step in the opposite direction!
And check out the "headlamps." What was the car before he "converted" it?
Wonder where this pic was snapped.
