I also don't think it's as old as it looks on build there's way to much that tells mid to late 90tys the first thing is that ac pump Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Late 90's puts the build at at least 25 years old, that's older than a lot of members on here. Pretty plausible though, built in the 90's sold a couple of later and then stuck in the garage for ten or more years after the guy bought it. The best part is no overt personalization that detracts from the car and it all flows together pretty well.
very Cool - Congrats - right place at the right time - some people condemn craigslist but, there are times that it is a great site

Congrats! Great looking Mercury, ENJOY! Fate? "To be in the right place at the right time", GOOD FOR YOU! I was looking for 3 years for a 49/51 Mercury, and found a 51 in my back yard ( gentleman retired and moved up here, his wife wanted it sold so they could travel) at a local car show, I don't think there are more than 2, 49/51 Merc's in northern Wi. and to find what I was looking for and the right $$$ was a very lucky deal, bought some lottery tickets that week, I guess my fate is to be a happy Mercury owner, not a Lottery millionaire. Life is Good, Happy Cruising down the road in your Mercury. John
The big bulky factory HEI dizzys often will not fit behind the end carb on a tripower. It's definitely true of the Pontiacs. The points style dizzy may have been chosen for space, and/or it may have a Pertronix style kit inside of it.
