What a transformation, looks fantastic. Do you have a rear pic?

  6. Isn't it funny almost 5,000 have clicked on to see ugly cars? Like a car wreck, you can't help but look. Hmm, a wreck, maybe that's what needs to happen to some (most) of these cars...

  9. Hey Nads,

Could you post some of those pictures from the old mags that started this thread?!?

  10. Even without the swim suit this old custom car or space thing is ugly...

Hey, I think I took that picture. The guy was up around Susanville Cali and had a bunch of wild stuff.

Your right Mike, it is amazing what they started with. Because David
Guymon was involved, I assumed it was an old sixties custom. When
Wayne was telling me the background and opened up the photo album
I about Krap'd. The T-Bird is a good example of the wrong way and
then the right way to Kustomize one.

I think "Custom Rodder" had an article on it a a couple of years ago....This
is all I could find right now. Not really at a good angle because it dosn't
show off the peak'd rear fenders. I might have some better pictures at
home..... It is one of my all time favorite customs.

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

Thanks for posting those. I'm glad he kept those lights, it's so common nowadays to flush mount some lenses that are a continuation of the adjoining metal. Those lights have that "style" from the old days.

I've always liked the car myself. First time I saw it was at the world of wheels in Pueblo.

I had heard some guys at that show talking about it being the Tom Jones custom from way back. It didn't matter to me if it was or not, becuse it was cool either way, so I never asked you or anyone about it.

Can't remember if it was when I had my El Camino or my Datsun. Either way, all I ever heard when people looked at my truck was "What the fuck is that"?:D

About the tri-5 chev...it's almost there. The grille and front air dam are just outta place. They look like something that mighta been done to an earlier car to start with, not a 56 and not an air dam. The stance, chop, rocker and fender flares, all pretty much get it done. Haven't seen the back. Some survivors could use a lil plastic (or metal:D ) surgery here n there. There are some seriously horrible cars here. I don't think that one qualifies. But that's just my opinion and it wasn't built for me.
