Love this stude pickup- almost as much as a 40 Ford pick up. (Can I say that here?)

that bed would not match a factory 4wd wheelbase

Does a 4x4 truck have a different wheelbase than a 2WD truck?

Or is there a wheel base difference between '61 and '63?

We have read that the 4x4 trucks never had that bed. The very few 4x4 trucks that had a wide bed, had the earlier style bed.

Perhaps someone moved the 4x4 components to a '63 frame with the Custom Cab on it?

There is another clue: There is a battery box attached to the frame on the passenger side under the cab. There is no way to access that box. Did some trucks have a hole in the floor or a door in the running board step for a battery?
