    'cause it sucks !
no it's a joke ,1rts it's smaller than a ,A ford ,2nd in france our title is important ,if you ride a citroen ,the title stipulate 4 cv "fiscaux" (like a fee that you need to pay at the governement 50$ each "cv fiscaux" )
and if you plug a big v8 on it ,you are outlaw.........!
so in france an A ford stipulate 19cv on the title (you can put a french flathead v8 at "21 cv")
and 3rd ,nothing exists for the chassis ,you need to make a scratch built ,with ford parts ,so it's better for us to use original 30's ford cars and parts.
nice french hot rod with french cars makes ,are built in the past

Well ... Put any flathead in a Citroen , whatever the CI , and I doubt any cop will see the difference ..
For the chassis parts , anything could fit .
I admit Ford parts are easier to find than Citroen .

I had an old bike , without registration ( carte grise ) .
Took me 10 minutes .. Procuration perte de CG , demande de CG a la prefecture , et hop , voila une moto plaquée a nouveau ( Favor 250 cc 1932 ) .
So I ve been playing with this kind of thing also :p I m from Toulouse .

that was true but, in the past ,now it changed ,the FFVE (french federation of antique vehicules)can't deliver you a new title with only a procuration of lost title. now if you don't have the original title (cg) you can't have a new valid title at your name.

Some people are too clever !!! Very Cool !!!!!!!

  7. you forget one important thing:
in France a B14 roadster couldn't be find easy, and with an obvious price
we have in our country some shops and workshops quasu-just for custom-hot roding and co, but our legislation is very restrictive
anyway, we have some nice car here and we are workin on!!

The law in France is not very restrictive, we're not allowed to modify any car in any way but the color.
Everything coupe/roadster/convertible are rare over here, they weren't many built at the time and the war destroyed many of them without talking about destruction derby in the 50'S. So when you find a good one, there usually is the price tag to match.

Yes, the 3.9Liter and the 2.5, for the C4 definetly the 3.9 from a Simca Cargo , if you're lucky the 4.2 (4" Merc stroke) from a Galion but they are much harder to come by.
One thing about the C4, the frame is heavy and ugly compared to a 32...

I ve checked the prices of old car in France , and it s crazy now .
Even an Acadiane cost twice the price I could find a 1930 car here :(

I kinda thought the same thing. Looks more like coupe rear quarters that roadster. Tapers down way to fast. Roadsters are more flat at the top then curve down in the rear.

Look like American rods & customs, just a little smaller.

Thanks for the info, the 3.9 sounds just fine. are there any useful transmissions/gearboxes that come with them out of the original vehicles or are they too commercial to use in a car?

Nice roadster, are there any photos of the build online?

Transmission from the trucks are useless, the carb too. Volvo 5 speed M47 gearbox or Ford Sierra box.

Hey Chrisp, does the ''Shitrone" live?

A kustom B14 would be cool, insane, but cool!

The purple Simca Chamborn is killer. Are very many vehicles from the 50s built into kustoms in France? I think you in France are building the true kustoms and hot rods................from used/old parts, not from new/repoparts bought from a magazine or catalog.

Nope, the shitroen is still dormant, I'm busy on a chopped/sectionned/pancaked/2 door converted 49 Chevy for a friend, plus I'm putting back on the road a 58 Renault Fregate that I'm modifying as a mild custom for myself.
Unfortunatly a lot of modified cars are more modified with whatever people find at junkyard or swap meet than with repop parts in this case, but things are changing for the last 10 years or so and people are going the extra mile to build cars like the one posted by Youks and Vonstriper with hard to find used parts and more and more repops.
Remember that in France modifying a car is illegal and Hot rods and Customs are a niche of maybe 400 or 500 cars (and I think I'm being optimistic) so there's no shop dedicated in rods & customs parts, we have to buy from Belgium and England or the US but with a 30% price hike. The web is helping a lot.

I think the worst part was in the 80 s , with Juva 4 stock engine , aerograph paint ( a dragon or a naked girl , of course .... ) , steel tailer white mags and most important , a lot of light every ( any) where .
There s been great success with Renault 12 Shelby also :p

I joke , I was dreaming for a Juva also ... What we see now is much nicer and clean than it was . Internet influence maybe ?
    Nostalgic ...

Bordeaux . Like the wine :p
I love Toulouse ...... this is my land ...
I think most of them are quite far , 10 or 12 hours by car .
To go to Toulouse you have to take a plane to Paris , then change . Well , most of the time ...
Delay the change ,it s the easiest way to meet those guys :p
