Hell with the rest of the top 10. Bj and the Bear made me want to be a truck driver but the General Lee burned it into my head to do dumb shit. Unfortunately I went to Dukes fest as an adult. Got to meet Cooter (completely cool guy) and got to cut to the front of the line since I was carrying my newborn. The imagery of my youth ended when I got to meet "Daisy Duke". Stood there in awe and thinking....yeah that was a long time ago(age hadn't been too kind).

I'm glad to see someone FINALLY mentioned the Riptide Corvette in 2007. LOL
And I don't remember seeing the Willys from the "made for TV" movie Hot Rod.

  6. Have to say Nick and Nora Charles' Dual-Ghia from the "Thin Man" TV series. Built on a Chrysler 300 chassis, with Hemi power -- favored car of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin as well.

    Yahuh, Broderick be da MAN!!

  8. Unfortunately I never got to meet Broderick Crawford but I've talked to people who worked with him. His love of a good drink was legendary. The story is that one time when shooting an episode of "Highway Patrol" he was too drunk to stand up. He could still do his lines well so the production crew laid the back set wall on the ground, laid Crawford down on it and shot the needed scene with the camera overhead and facing down which made it appear that he was standing up. A great story even if not true. A fine actor especially as Willie Stark in "All The King's Men".

  16. Except it was a Dodge Dart (Duster is a Plymouth and a kind of fast back type)
And Jefferson's car from Fast times (which is a movie not TV) was a 79 Z28

Now let's not forget Walker Texas Ranger's lifted GMC Truck in the early episodes, a Dodge Ram in the later ones

    Volvo P1800 from "The Saint"

My favorite TV cars are about every single one I see in the background of a Twilight Zone episode. The main characters always had a top o' the line convertible too.

All the Willys Jeeps in Rat Patrol were pretty kick ass... and what about the Willys wagon that got jumped, flipped and wrecked in every other episode of "Maverick" back in the day? lol...

My cars are far from the top ten... but it is what it is...

Not only is the Kookie Car the only real hot rod in the whole lot of 'em, it's the best looking one that ever appeared in a recurring role practically every week.

But I guess you hadda live in the 50's to understand that.

  22. Nash Bridges' ragtop, the Happy Days rpu, the original Batmobile, the Green Hornet. Does one from a music video count - the Everly Bros. Nightingale.

  23. What about the 62 Ferrari Jeff won on the Donna Reed Show?

Too many cool ones to list, but like someone said, the Monkeymobile was a sickness with me when I was a kid. So was the original Batmobile. I used to work at Pete and Jakes doing ads and catalogs for them a hundred years ago when they were in Grandview, MO. The California Kid and the Kid II were always around. They were both damned sweet! Always wanted to take a date out in one, but I don't think Jerry would have gone for that. Heheh

I dunno, Batmobile would have to top my list, Green Hornets Imperial next, Monkeymobile third. It's all when you grew up, I guess. Kookie car would be one for sure, Grafitti coupe not technically a TV car. There's something I'm missing here, some car I can't remember....

Of course it's Grabowski's T. That car spaned an industry. Around here there were two companys spewing out Fad T's. 'Glass knock offs of Grabowski's car. Andys Instant Ts was one. The other in Palo Alto I forget the name. People are still building cars based on his vision. Thousands of them must have been built. Name one other car that caused that much interest.
