During a road trip this last weekend I had the opportunity to meet some great people. One of them was Zeke Zacherson. He was kind enough to show me around his yard and collection.
After walking around and seeing amazing car after amazing car we went farther into the yard and I saw this.

The Zacherson Special. Dual purpose Bonneville car and Drag Racer running a 7 port Jimmy 6.

    This car blew my mind!

He was. We spent several hours there. I felt pretty privileged. He let me shave his head. That's a whole other story and set of pictures!

Zeke is one of the great characters of Inliners International.

Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures.

I also had the chance to see his entire collection of Wayne 12 port conversions for both GMC and Chevy.
    I was dumbfounded, absolutely dumbfounded.
I could go on for days about the things I saw.

  9. Zeke's been around Bonneville forever. His Nebraska roots probably have alot to do with his personality and sence of humor. As I recall, that '29 roadster used to have a flathead in it back in the 80's.

Nate, Its a great experience when you get to enter an old racer's world and they show you their racing history.

In September last year I did the exact same thing, I checked out my inliner mentor's collection of SCTA trophies, photos, timing tags, and his Stovebolt and Jimmy engines. I learnt a lot both engine wise, but more inportantly I really appreciated the life experience of meeting such a guy.

    Thanks for the photos.

Wow, I met Zeke at an Inliners convention out in Denver several years ago. I saw him a few times over the weekend, but what I really remember was having some beers with him when somebody said something to him about how rusty his car was.

We sat there for a while, getting beer silly, and slurring "Th-thats not rust, you see, thats p-p-patina!" at each other. :D

    Too much fun! Kinky6
