The Race of Gentlemen, 2015

Safety first. You don't think they would let us race in 80 mph winds do you? Le Voyageur Motel was very cool about changing dates. We even ended up with a suite for next w/end! Now the hard part- WAITING ANOTHER WEEK!

 

I feel so bad for the guys who's jobs won't accommodate the postponement. I.E. vacation time for travel and such.

 

Very much appreciate the positive comments it was a hard decision to make and we want as many happy campers as possible. A meeting with the mayor and township folks and their knowledge of the impact of a storm swayed us to make this difficult decision. the tides shall be more favorable next weekend' we are here, now and all week amazing things that legends are made of will go down this weekend, so if you have any hankering to come down anyway your grand kids will say "oh poppa are you making up stories again?"

WOW Just called The Caprice Motel they are moving booked rooms until next weekend !!!!!!!!

 

We all have to question our own sanity. If Mel and the Oilers didn't postpone we would be waiting in line to race on the beach during a hurricane while the towns people are fleeing for cover. I'm including myself in this group of nut jobs. I was going to willingly drive 1300 miles to be in a hurricane. Holy Shit, I have a problem.

the Atec where I'm staying is honoring rooms for the following weekend.
It's all good!

On a side note, anyone got a stock banger FOR SALE, I need one and will be willing to pick it up at the race.
Needs to be priced right!

When I was in High School, I worked at a hotel that had a beach in front of it ( Good Harbor Beach, in Gloucester, Mass.). Nothing like the smell of rotting seaweed and a Bud hangover to start your Saturday morning off!! Pre-qualified!!

 

Man I can wait to see more pics/videos of this!
