  2. Anytime anything is being installed onto the back of engine, it is good practice to verify that the crankshaft endplay is the same after installation as it was before the installation. This practice is standard procedure for industrial, marine, big truck, etc engines and most times is overlooked with automotive engines... because we assume the parts combination was designed to fit right. When we change parts around, that assumption gets pretty risky. Removing endplay can result in a destroyed engine, transmission, or both.

    What size hammer do I use to check the endplay?

    It's a 20 or 21 I believe 2.20 first gear, not sure though I've had it quite awhile?

    I have the same first gear in the. T-10 in my Willys and had to put 4.30 gears in the rear end so I can get it to move lol one thing for sure it will launch now

    I found out that this 62 09 car does not hold a beer near as well as my Shamu.

    I've been real busy lately been workin on a OT car for a customer laying low since I broke the rear axles in the Willys. the truck is running excellent it just doesn't move right now lol the one good pass I got out of it before it broke was a 10.99 at 119mph I'm just saving some money to get some good axles you wanna donate to my cause I've set a collection can up at the local gas station lmao

    We should start a charity: "Severe duty driveline components for the less fortunate" cause I am broke as hell and trying to figure out how I'm gonna afford axles,yokes,driveshaft,locker,trans work,and about a dozen other things on top of finishing getting a decent running 289 together....lol

    No Ric tonight I hope to get the block mocked up to check piston to valve and valve to block clearance.

    Sorry I dont have any but my good friend Tom that owns this car I am working on has a small Fort Knox worth of parts I will ask what he is will too part with.
    If our trip to Great Bend Ks the end of the month don't go well I am not sure what he will have left.
