Glad you liked that cover Gary.
I don't talk much about that big road trip, for me in that bus. Tony and Tom driving off into the distance. With me having no hope of keeping up.
We'd have a planned place to stop at the end of the day. I'd pull in a couple of hours after the' hot rod guys' had arrived. So much more I could moan about, but I won't. Luckily, Ethan was taking pictures.
I think that shot at the Texaco, was one of the 'hot rod guys' fuel stops. Trust Tony to fuel up where one of the locals was fueling up his 3W.
I became known as the 'bus boy'.

    Big Daddy
I can let you in a few road trip secrets. I hope whodack don't mind me sharing but the back of the bus has a custom built ramp powered by hydraulic Rams shuts tight whilst prepping for the long haul all engineered by the master himself but the beauty of this engenius one off design is too allow all the road trip finds we seem to always stumble upon to be sucked up into the endless vacuum that is the hot rod bus!!! Now the contents of the journey in the bus Big Daddy are a whole nother chapter to this adventure ...,

We have nothing to hide here at 'The Magazine Of The Mind ' publishing company. For me the editor, it is all about the field research. Tracking down a lead for a new article and that shot for the next cover.
Once again, that is my story and I am sticking to it.

Image in my last post isn't showing up this morning.
I finally got my NBN router working yesterday and there is a couple of strange things happening on my computer system. One is I can't edit my posts in here after I have posted them.

thanks Geoff that's something else. Think the guards will be coming off again shortly.

2 months straight that's cool, no major dramas? I still remember when you let me drive your 5w like it was yesterday, first hotrod I got to drive that was great.

No I had no real dramas, apart from scrubbing the front tyres out. But I got through that. Was my pleasure letting you have a steer of my old worn out 5W.
That cover with the Moonyeham and Sharpe 5W was a good one Gary.
Still putting together the next episode of ' A Bus-boy Chases 2 Hot Rods Across America'.
Here's a roadster we saw along the way though.

Yes Geoff I like that one but considering my passion for 32-5 window coupes that's not surprising then you add a blown Hemi and that's the icing on the cake. That car is the ultimate 32-5w in my opinion.

  17. Hey Pat, the time Geoff let me have a drive of his 5 window definitely left an impression on myself as well. I'm sure he's done the same for many a young hot rodder. As I will be doing when (if) I ever get my chev on the road.

Geoff that's a hell of a nerf bar on the front of that 32 roadster. Almost looks like the face guard on a grid iron helmet.

We're lucky to have grown up and be surrounded by awesome guys hey FB.
There can't be an 'if' in your thoughts mate only a when.
Chew off small bits at a time and before you know it, it's looking like a hotrod. Show deadlines work pretty good for getting your ass into gear too ha

I can't believe I'm saying it but Jeff Norwell's coupe is so good I don't think it needs the chop.

We came across this pick up in far eastern Texas couldn't find too much out about it but was an extremely interesting piece. The Big T just had to have it so it got sucked up in the back of the HR bus

Well Tom, that T turtle deck roadster looks a bit ordinary. But I guess it could be turned into something like the one pictured on the latest cover.
I am still trying to play catch up in that old bus. I think if I was with you and Tony, I could steer you to some choice tin!!.

    Awsome Whodack!!

That's exactly what we spoke about making the Tee into when we're eating Texas BBQ at Red State BBQ in Lexington KY

  26. Sounds like the bus trip is really ready to ramp up, I can see the bad as tee digger being hauled cross country by a way cool pickup headin towards that ol drag strip near Buck Owens home town.

All the while eating and you guys talking I'm thinking we need to find something more complete and in a lot better condition.
Then the next day when you guys are probably 2 states ahead of me I pull into this rinky dink little town and find these 2 gems.
    What to do?
No mobile phones back then. These were going to cost and it would be a real squeeze to get them into the big blue and white bus.

Here's one that takes us back to normal programming. Rather than the mindless ramblings of a few old hot rodders reliving past roads trips in their old faded memories, complete with fantasy cover shots from days gone by. Ably produced by the 'Magazine Of The Mind Publishing Company'.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Yeah Whodacky image our surprise when you shared the information on finding a whole swag of 34's in the one farm, geez being slow had its privileges for keeping an eagle eye out for the tin gems that we blasted past completely unaware

Damn Tom. 'Being slow had it's privileges'? Maybe I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I get there eventually.
Actually it's all about sitting high in that good old 'slow' bus, I get to see over all them tall fences.
OK all is forgiven Tom. Here's a cover I think you may like.
