Anyone have any good pics, any info about it? does it still exsist? I caught an episode on TV late tonight, and saw the car in the intro and It got me curious about it. I never gave it much thought before. All I can find online are these pics. Looks like a PU with upsidedown headers and triumph fenders.
That car was featured in American Rodder back in the late eighties / Early nineties... ( Belive it was a part of a BIG collection of Hot Rod memmorabilia ) I tried to find that issue , but with no luck. Cool car Klaz
don't know the truth of the statement, but I was told that there was not bed in the back of that truck during the show. anyone confirm or deny that?? said the couple times they had guys in the bed on the show they were standing on the crossmember
Heres something you dont know...the truck had a big screen debut, way before Happy Days.... watch the original "Love Bug" movie...the very first in the series.....look at the starting line up of the Mexican off road race....yep, there it be, Yellow and all...
I was just watching this out in the garage the other day with my 7 year old daughter, SHE LOVED IT! I saw Ralph pull up in that, I think this was like the 3rd or 4th episode I was watching. You gotta love scraping the grease off a big block buick while your daughter sits in a shop chair watching shit you loved as a kid.
I wouldn't be surprised, considering the outlets point directly at the door and in all the close up shots I don't see any damaged paint or discoloration on them.
The Headers ARE Non functional....count the tubes 4 on the headers, and how many outlets on a Flattie, kids???
Ummm, it's not quite 7am, I don't have coffee on board yet. I hate school. Oh wait, it has an engine, no tits though. I can actually answer this one. Now I'm going to have to go rent that first herbie and look for the truck. I love this trivia thing...... I had forgotten all about the mouth's ride....
theres 4 tubes, but it looks like the fourth tube just goes under the firewall,so why would they still be fakes?
Look close at this pic...you can see the two center ports, ala SBC...theres a flat tubing "manifold" bolted to the flattie ports, THEN the upside down Chev headers are bolted to the blocked of side of the header.... look close...see the second set of tubes going DOWN under the car...?

I looked at this rod when it was for sale in the car corral at Carlisle 10-15 years ago, and the headers are definitely sbc units bolted to a "box" that obscures view of the stock flathead manifolds.

Here's a closeup shot of the engine I found on the net. You can see the "fake" headers and the real ones going below. Anyone know what that oil filter is off of????? I always liked that car when they showed it in the opening credits. Im building my preunit Triumph kinda like Fonzie's in the show.
