Well I did a bunch of stuff today. I went to Paradise Dragstrip today for a swap meet and a little bit of racing.
After that I went to the house and loaded the family up in the wagon and drove to Athens Tn. for their 1st cruise in.
After that we drove back to Cleveland and went to Steak and Shake for supper.
I will post some pics tomorrow.

Here is the ragged wagon with my buddy Gene's 57 I love this car Here is Ethan and Emma hamming it up in front of a T-Bucket. This is what Ethan wants to build for himself when he gets a little older. If there is a camera around the diva is posing This is my friend Big D's 56 After the cruise in we drove back to Cleveland and the kids wanted to go to Steak and Shake for supper.
we put around 70 miles on the wagon with no problems

No problem look for more as it is the start of car show season

 

My Corvette saw the light of day after about 29 years in storage.
Expect a ton of pics tomorrow.

 

Well yesterday was a big day
Finally brought my Corvette home 1st time it has seen the light of day in about 29 years.
There will be some duplicate pics. I took some then realized the hubcap was not on it and put it on and took some more.

The clutch was stuck and the calipers were stuck we got the clutch freed up and rocked the car and got it to move.
we drove it around the house and waited on the rollback to come get it.

One of my partners in crime Gene was there helping. He loved the car.
Gene aggravating Ethan 2 generations of West men wising we had my dad with us. The neighbor came up and checked it out. he had only saw the car once the whole time he has lived there. He is a great neighbor.
After we drove the car around the house Ethan was riding shotgun he said "This is the best spring Break ever"

 

Here it is at home with the rest of my stash. Time to get cracking on this car June will be here before we know it and we are planning on taking it to the Hot Rod Reunion.

 

It takes up a lot less room than my wagon

 

That is a great car. I'd love to have a '65-66 small-block 4-speed roadster. It really doesn't get any better!

Looks like a nice car. What condition is the frame just in frt of the rear kick up(just in frt of where the rear trailing arms attach). So many Corvettes up north here have rust issues in that area. Bet I have repaired a couple dozen over the years.
And what plans do you have for it ?

 

Thanks it has been quite a while since he passed. When we got the car out yesterday there was quite a few emotions that came back. The biggest one was sadness because my kids never got to know him.

We are going to get it up on jackstands and give it a good inspection and give it a good cleaning.
Then we are going to get it running and driving. After that we are going to just cruise it.

I want to thank all of you guys for your comments and input.
Hopefully there will be time to wash the car and clean it out this weekend.
Then make a list of what I have and what I need and what needs don and get after it.
Time to start checking stuff off.

 

Well Ethan has been chomping at the bit since we brought the car home to wash it. Well the planets aligned yesterday afternoon and it got up to about 61. We got out and washed it and it cleaned up decent.
The old Lacquer paint doesn't match in spots and there is a pretty bad spot on the front fender.

The car is still going to look good going down the road. In a few years we may get it painted, who knows.
After we got it washed we had to take pics.



Ethan kept saying "Oh yeah you are picking me up from school in this".

 

Man that cleaned up nice! Get that rubber cleaned up and it's like you jumped in the way back machine!

 

Very nice Corvette. And it is great to see the family enjoying it together!

 

Don't paint it! That's my vote. Very sorry to hear how it came into your hands, but it shouldn't have gone anywhere else. The ''dirty'' pix made the whitewalls look like gold lines.

 

IT WILL PROBABLY GET A REPAINT EVENTUALLY BUT THAT WILL PROBABLY BE WAY IN THE FUTURE
