When the car was first built it used frame rails from a Star chassis, I don't know when or why but it was later rebuilt using 29 or 29 chevy rails, you can see the change in the frame in some of the pictures I have, I would post some showing the change but I have to ok it with Jim Miller at the AHRF as he was kind enough to send me a lot of pics and info on the car with the understanding that the pictures were the property of the AHRF and would only be used for my personal use for building the replica, This one is a pic that I had though

  4. G'day Roy, the team of Bill Swartzrock & Jack Lehman ran the car in '42 They would be responsible for rebuilding the car with the Chev rails and for painting the modified black. Swartzrock/Lehman had bought the car from fellow Albata member Bob Knapton. While raced by Knapton/White the modified had the stepped Star rails, I believe Knapton/White were also responsible for installing the V8 .

Matt, you might try PMing @CrazyUncleHarry The Hudson-powered rail he built is inspired by the Chrisman car and I know he's quite into the lakes-modified configuration too. He might know. I messaged him myself, but he might overlook it.

Will I see you at Jalopy Showdown Saturday?
