Not sure this qualifies as a mild custom? But here's my very mild custom.

Danger, bitchin' car but it looks like it's bone stock minus a visor and lowering. No body mods label it as "stock", not "mild custom". If it were nosed or decked, shaved handles, custom trim, etc. you'd be heading in the right direction.

Danger, that merc is bad ass just the way it is.

  9. I agree it looks great but lowering alone does not make it a custom.

This thread is full of cars that are just lowered, not nosed, not decked and so on, like 2 out of the first three cars posted on page one. Which by the way is just what the guy who started the thread was looking for.

  11. O,K, I'll play. Pick on this one and tell me what it is (or isn't). I really don't care where it fit's. I built it at home from a PILE just to make me happy and I've been driving the Shit out of it for 8 years. No plan to stop any time soon. 51 Vicky 003.jpg 51 Vicky 012.jpg

Yep, lots of cars here that aren't the definitive "mild custom" and they're all called out. I'm not the authority on such matters, but what constitutes a "mild custom" was set in stone 50 years ago. We've had much discussion here regarding this. Go back and read.

You don't need a title for your car, you know what it is. It's bitchin'.

By the rules (50 years ago) I'd say it falls into the mild custom category. Again, I'm not the expert.

I might be walking the line, between mild and full custom, but there are no significant body mods on my '62 Merc Monterey I just finished after 6 1/2 years. Paint, some trim removal, lowered, grill, exhaust, wheels, and custom upholstery.

I love this thread, though, it has provide me with lots of inspiration during the build of this car.

FrozenMerc, your '62 is beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Really like the paint and upholstery choices you made. Very cool. Is there a little flake in the green vinyl? Just cool! -Dave.

FrozenMerc thanks for the information. I'm planning a white & ? interior for my '60 Fairlane, if I ever get that far.

Pictures-293.jpg Pictures-271.jpg Heres a couple pics of my 57 Buick I did about 8 years ago. It since has been sold, passed around, and now belongs to my club brother who has updated it with some flames and a new interior.

Don't change a thing, That's sweet just like it is!

  26. Here is my 48 Continental with only a mild paint change and Zenith wires. Lowered a bit.
Currently has a 3X2 390 FE, Toploader and a 9" rear with 4 bar. I think this was a mild custom when built.
Plans are a top chop and pancake the rear deck.
Hope it fits the intent of this thread.

This black Ford sounded great through those straight lakes pipes!

Note the lack of seams on this '57, inc. the Connie!

Grabowski's old F-100. Not as mild as it looks!
