Great story ,glad to see the car went to a good home. I loved this car the first time I saw it for sale. I like the black wheels and black wall's too.

I went black on my 39 standard last fall.

great read. even though i'm a big fan of big whitewalls, the new tires and rims give it a cool attitude, i can't beleive that's original paint either.

Glad you are having fun with it. I gotta get the 54 back running, it gives me the same feeling.

"Living the life". That Ford, can make your transition from the wagon, an easier adjustment, I would think. It is just how you want to find them. Enjoy.

Yeah, it's been in the classifieds for a while. I didn't want the post to come off as an ad though! :)

I just got the quarter fixed, so it's headed to ebay soon.

Seeing your name made me remember, I think I found a back panel for a sedan. If you want it and I can get it, it's yours. Let me know.

Your car and your stories kind of inspired this whole mess...

Ryan--thanks for the compliment; I'm glad I could help. I'm digging how intact the interior in yours is. It's stunning.

Tardel would kill me. I've got to live up to my pals in NorCal!

Yes, the backseat is all setup now for two baby seats. I take PJ to school in it every morning. I get real paranoid with my kids in the car, so I drive like an old man when they are on board... They love it though. PJ keeps asking me why it "looks so old inside."

Rad. Looks good... I'll tell the ole neighbor not to cut that panel out.

    Damn fine ride....
Cool to see ya "ditch" the "luxurious" '60 for a more CRUDE driving daily driver experience...haha.
I too have grown tired of my "newer" daily driver work vehicle (it's an '84 and beats the shit outta ya), am currently looking to buy a late '50's-early '60's car for work.....will actually be more comfortable....
Drove my wife's '66 Impala today to work......old cars just fucking rule, especially as daily drivers in this day and age.

    Cool post man.

Welcome to the daily driver club, Ryan. I've been doing it for years, first with my '55 and now with my '37. The drive to and from work is almost always the best part of my day.

Watch out for the German shepard sized deer! I worked in Dripping springs several years ago..every morning there were tons of little deer in the road. Seems there's a famous little whore house near there.. ZZ Top sang about ;)

Just about every morning I leave my house in my old truck headed down rr12. And just about every morning I see ole Ryan puttin' down the same road in his sedan. It always makes me smile.

Thanks for the coffee this morning! Much appreciated! Stop by the shop when you get a chance, I got something for ya.

Speaking of Dripping... This place is turning into a mecca. Here's a quick list of the cars that call the Drip home:

For those not from these parts, Dripping Springs is a town of a little over a 1000... Located about 35 miles south west of Austin.
