I got one for you,.... And I would like to find it !

    BE ON THE LOOK OUT!!!!!

This 1937 Terraplane was built over a few months to make it to the Nationals in 1978, It was a 2 Door, it had a 40 Ford axle made to fit the front springs, A Chevy 6 and Automatic and a 8" ford on stock springs,.... It was painted a dark brown, with tan wheels (wire wheels) and trim,....

Last known location, Ypsilanti Mi. in 1979 or 1980. Did any of you see, or hear of this car ?,..... I would love to know where it ended up.

    Taken at the 1978 Nats

Here is my old mans 49 Super Six. He picked it up last spring and will be starting his build next month. He's going to make a custom out of it, lowered, shaved and powered with a 331 Caddy mated to a muncie 4 speed.

This '33 Essex Terraplane convertible is one of North Carolina's oldest hot rods.

    1) Jack Thompson, who owned it from 1941-1953 and used the original modified straight 8 engine.
    2) Bob Lawhon bought it in '58 and Carson topped it and powered it by 331 Cadillac.
    3) 1969 at the Charlotte Custom Car Show. That was a year after I bought it and redid it but still Cadillac powered. That is also where I met Rich Venza, who signed me up for the H.E.T. club.
    4) 1970, now supercharged small block chevy powered, with my infant son.
    5) 1977, now sopercharged big block Chevy powered.
    6) 2009, me, my grown son and his 3 sons.
    7) 2009, the last picture I took of it (my avatar) before selling it after owning it for 41 years.

  11. Heres my 52 Hudson Hornet 4 Door. Was a driver, now a project. 308 single carb with Dual range Hydro. Going to lower it 3" all the way around and put stock rims back on the front. Will be Red with a Ivory roof when its all said and done.

I really like Zombiecustoms 53 hornet. how much did you lower it, and how did you lower it front and rear?

  12. blocks in the rear, and early bronco springs in the front, it is too low and the springs are not the correct rate, so before I take it to Va next week I need to replace them. it needs to be raised about an inch to keep the lower control arm from hitting the frame.

  13. I learned to drive in a '49 convert. I'll watch this.

  15. Few cars evoke the curves of a woman more than a Terraplane coupe from the 30's. Maybe the Zephyrs come in a close second.

Looks like a 36, 36 had the tail lights on the trunk lid.

  20. Nope, it is a 1937. Those bumpers are found only on the '37 models. I owned one for five years.

If its a 37 then somebody went to a lot of work to remove the taillights and Terraplane emblem from the trunk then add 36 taillights.

Here's some of the 13 Hudsons I've owned
Not sure if they used my 47 Commodore Conv. for the cover of Old Cars, but I had the twin.

65 years ago today I took my first ride in a Hudson. I was only two days old and came home from the hospital in my Dad's '42 2dr sedan. Here is a picture of the car.
