I like your thinking. I've always thought a model A on a deuce frame looks out of proportion. The stock height deuce frame looks too heavy. Model A's would look better if they where channeled about an inch over the deuce frame. You've come up with the obvious solution Great work..

So I'm not the only one who likes a slimmer frame..... I re-arranged the pictures and added a few, I hope I got the hang of posting dadgum pictures now. I really have learned alot from tech week so far. Thanks, Bob

VERY nice, the car looks perfect...however. Why no pics of the reveal being made, that is an important step? Again, very nice, thanks for posting.

Youtube!!!! I just figured out dadgum pictures! Your killing me.
Yes, ONLY Traditional dadgum was used in the making of this entry.
I don't have the press brake in my basement. I had to use one "off site". Bob

Even though I know I will never build a dadgum frame myself, it sure is interesting to watch and learn a bit from someone that obviously knows what they are doing. Keep up the good work and I will quietly await more pictures.:cool:

  13. I agree on the shorter frame rail, for my 28 I made mine 5" tall. Nice work!

    Hey Larry
Your note to self should read, ask how does that big "ass shrinker/stretcher" work:eek:
Never mind, we probably don't want to know.

Like the x-member, I want to do something similar for the chassis in my coupester, but "drop" the tops at the frame intersection to give a little more butt-room.

Bob, Thanks for trying to steer the conversation back on topic, and thank you for your previous encouragement.
I have added a short video of the Marchant in use. Bob

my butt is actually relatively skinny, but its a mid-fifties channeled minimalist deal so every inch counts. I want to angle the top flange of the rails downwards as well, like they did on the Kelly Brown/John Mumford roadster.

    Bob,
Wow! I got ALL the "dadgum"(c. 3wLarry Enterprises) pictures, and that looks great. I think once you finish that "A", you've gotta finish that "taildragger" we talked about! Hope your Dad 's doing well- time to cut more firewood! Mike B.

Mike, All the parts are together now for the taildragger. Dad came to visit last week, he could have brought a trailer load, just saying. Keep in touch, and swing down some time. Bob

Very cool stuff! You have, or have access to, some pretty serious equipment to form 11 gauge like that. I have been looking for one of those Marchant's (or an Erco) since I first saw one several years ago. How big is the press brake you used to stamp out the reveal?

For the bending and pressing the reveal, I use a 110 ton press brake. My longest bend is right about 6', and my reveal pressing form is closer to 5'. I'm not struggling with 110 ton, so less may work too.
In your search for a Marchant, were you looking for an air powered machine, or the kick version? Thanks, Bob
